Commented on a TIFU about a man getting a boner during a scalp massage at a barber shop. Men couldn’t wrap their heads around why that would make a woman uncomfortable 🙄

He needed me to acknowledge his "outfits" that he put together. It started because I gave him genuine compliments when he looked nice. But eventually he started rolling in wearing jorts and an enormous t-shirt every day and expected me to compliment his choices. If I didn't say anything he'd passive aggressively pace around trying to get in my view until I made some kind of comment. It was a struggle to come up with something to say but I always tried, even when he swam into view looking like he was doing Adam Sandler cosplay id still try to think of SOMETHING nice to say, like "that's a nice color". when I really got the ick though is when he started making his own commentary, like "I think these sleeves make my arms look big..." And then he'd crane around to guage my reaction.

OMGGGGGGod I’m dead lmao literally this guy heard I like when guys wear caps …. I kid you not….. he came out in his WORK CAP and uniform and modeled it for me expecting me to fawn over it

What was the work you say? LITERALLY A SUPERMARKET !!!!!!!! UNIFORM !!!!!!

So much ick I think I crawled inside my own body

[–]Platipus6FDS Disciple 17 points18 points19 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

oh my god. these losers modelling it like they're abercrombie possibilities.

A fat dude I was dating 🤡 lost weight while we were together because I 🤡 was his nutritionist, chef and exercise buddy 🤡 bought some cheap-ass fast fashion printed tees and got the male clerk to come over and get me to come look at him. He primped and posed in front of the mirrors, looking back at me and raising his eyebrows. Yeah dude. Great. Get that one. It barely clings to your rolls.

I thought men were visual creatures. You have eyes. Look in the mirror.

One recently referred to women as “something”. When I inquired “something?” (as opposed to someone). He replied “something = female”. I blocked.

[–]Antique_Fortune6974FDS Newbie 8 points9 points10 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I'm really curious how this actually played out in a sentence. My brain hurts. Haha.

[–]PryrasFDS Newbie 500 points501 points502 points 4 years ago* (20 children) | Copy Link

Walking too far ahead of you and not keeping the same pace. Apparently this guy really liked me and was shocked when I told him it really turned me off.

[–]iggypiggyfiggyFDS Newbie 165 points166 points167 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Yes I hate that so much. It’s rude.

[–]TurquoiseCephalopodFDS Newbie 145 points146 points147 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

When are we going to normalize turning around and walking the opposite direction when this happens?

I've never heard of this happening before this sub and I am shocked. If he's ahead, it's going to take him a bit to notice you're gone unless he's looking back every few moments, but that's even more Fing weird. Like making sure your puppy is still following 🤢

[–]s_slayerFDS STRATEGY COACH 84 points85 points86 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Had a boyfriend do this. We went to see a football game out of town with like three of his friends and when we were walking from the hotel to the train he was way ahead of me, two of the friends noticed and stopped to walk beside me. I thanked the guys for doing that, he heard and obviously saw the situation and didn’t seem too phased. Needless to say we are not together.

[–]Otters-eating-tacosFDS Newbie 168 points169 points170 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Oh man. I dressed really cute for an anniversary date and walked across a huge city in heels just so I can look adorable and he walked ahead of me the entire fucking time. My feelings were so hurt 🤡

[–]good-day-throwawayFDS Newbie 27 points28 points29 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Holy shit THIS EXACT THING happened to me. It was my birthday, dressed up in a cute dress and my best heels. Looking back I should have dumped him right there. (At least he had the decency to arrange the date and pay? ☠️☠️☠️)

[–]caitbergFDS Newbie 47 points48 points49 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I went on a bike date with a guy and he was super far ahead of me the whole time. Then afterwards he asked me to walk his bike while he made a phone call to plan his upcoming weekend in Vegas. He was so surprised when we got to his apartment and immediately called an Uber. lol

[–]lucidlotusFDS Newbie 94 points95 points96 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Can confirm. Huge red flag.

[–]PoorfckFDS Newbie 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I absolutely hate that. What puts me off the most is knowing that men just expect you to follow them like a sheep. If you turned around and disappeared, they wouldn’t even notice until you’re gone.

[–]stare_at_the_sun 287 points288 points289 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

One that comes to mind right away is talking about his glory days. He decides to tell me how in highschool a girl got made fun of for having mosquito bites, so he gave her a hug and said wow, are you wearing a push-up bra?! to make her feel better. No idea what the context of saying this was. I have most definitely had bigger ick moments, but this was most recent and really left a bad taste.

[–]iggypiggyfiggyFDS Newbie 202 points203 points204 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Omg no that’s really gross. Men talking about their high school days is always an ick for me. Like you’re 30 has nothing of interest happened since high school?💀

[–]PalminatorFDS Newbie 46 points47 points48 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I dated a NVM (30s) …he and his NVparents would always talk about his HS basketball days. They would get together at least twice a year for a week or so, and tell the exact same basketball stories, verbatim, multiple times a week…as if it they had new audiences. The same stories…twice a year…verbatim.

[–]MyLifeIsWandsXIIIFDS Newbie 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That's really sad and creepy to be honest. I understand having nostalgia for a certain time of your life but that just seems... far too excessive. It's clear it transcended nostalgia and they were stuck trying to re-live his glory days.

[–]PalminatorFDS Newbie 3 points4 points5 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes, exactly. It was extremely creepy bc they responded/laughed/gasped at the exact same moments in the stories each time…it was like Groundhog Day with them.

[–]fruitloopcocoFDS Newbie 262 points263 points264 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Imitating something you say with a whiney voice...are we 5?

[–]lucidlotusFDS Newbie 170 points171 points172 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I really have a problem with it this one…makes me think he hears women’s voices automatically in a whine in his head. 🤷‍♀️

[–]iggypiggyfiggyFDS Newbie 93 points94 points95 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That’s an excellent point. That’s probably exactly why.

[–]bombay_girlFDS Newbie 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My ex did this shit. Every time I made a point in an argument that he didn’t agree with, he would do a cruel imitation of my voice in a mock high pitch and repeat back what I said in that voice. It was humiliating and just took the confidence out of me everytime he did that.

[–]StrawberryMoon3FDS Apprentice 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

On a first date and all was going well until he asked me the question “So what are your biggest turn ons?” My answer: Honestly a guy that is an actual adult and has some sort of financial literacy. His answer: “When women are completely shaved from the neck down, and this” and gets out of his chair, and proceeds to kiss my neck in the MIDDLE OF THE RESTAURANT. On a FIRST DATE.

🤺🤺BACK I SAY🤺🤺

When he pulls back he asks, “I screwed up didn’t I?” I said YES, yes you did. I left shortly after that.

[–]TurquoiseCephalopodFDS Newbie 149 points150 points151 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

He literally didn't even listen to your answer. He just wanted an excuse to tell you his 🤢 otherwise he would have aborted mission and acted like a fucking adult

[–]tinyoceankissesFDS Newbie 22 points23 points24 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

That infuriates me, they so rarely listen.

[–]TurquoiseCephalopodFDS Newbie 14 points15 points16 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If I ever get the inclination a male is asking something just to give their response, I always go for the "oh idk so anyways subject change" all in one breath just to take it away from them 🤣

Dirty bathrooms without fail, imagine beard hair trimmings and clipped toe nails all over the bathroom sink, mineral and fecal stains on the toilet, pee puddle in front the toilet. 🤢

[–]lucidlotusFDS Newbie 58 points59 points60 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

I’m still haunted by one I saw years ago that had a thin carpet of hair on every surface…

[–]PicoPicoMioFDS Newbie 55 points56 points57 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The bathroom I described was the communal bathroom in a house full of male roommates. It was revolting. I didn’t even mention the floors covered in dust and body hair 😭

[–]iggypiggyfiggyFDS Newbie 111 points112 points113 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That’s VILE. If a man can’t clean his bathroom that’s the biggest red flag. It’s so gross. Why do they live like barn animals?

[–]PicoPicoMioFDS Newbie 60 points61 points62 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I have no clue! Its repulsive and it’s not like their parents didn’t teach them to clean. They know how, they just really don’t get bothered by it. A man’s bathroom is a staph infection waiting to happen.

[–]butterflyfrenchfryFDS Newbie 6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

[–]MorthaPFDS Newbie 208 points209 points210 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I had already set my mind to hook up with this guy when he pulled out his phone and randomly showed me a pic of his ex and told me that I'm not as fat as her.

Never backpedaled faster

[–]iggypiggyfiggyFDS Newbie 66 points67 points68 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Lmfao that’s so dumb. Was that supposed to be a compliment?

[–]MorthaPFDS Newbie 61 points62 points63 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

apparently so. At that point he had already thrown out plenty of red flags looking back at it now, but that one somehow snapped me out of it

[–]greeneyesrosylipsFDS Newbie 182 points183 points184 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I was dating this guy from uni for only 2 weeks. We weren't even boyfriend and girlfriend, and he was already showing huge red flags, one of them being scolding me over everything I say like I'm a misbehaved child. The last straw was when we were walking around campus and I mentioned my creepy male teacher from freshman year standing near us. Instead of listening, he said I shouldn't "talk like that about people". That man IS a certified creep and every girl from my major can atest that, BOY BYE!!!!

[–]orangechickengeneralFDS Newbie 93 points94 points95 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If he defends another abuser or creep without even knowing them, guess what, he himself is one.

[–]iggypiggyfiggyFDS Newbie 77 points78 points79 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

That’s abusive behaviour fr

[–]greeneyesrosylipsFDS Newbie 57 points58 points59 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If this is how he acts when he's supposed to be on his best behavior, I'm scared to know of what he's like in an actual relationship.

[–]Platipus6FDS Disciple 371 points372 points373 points 4 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link

I'd do the recommended coMmuNiCatE - "when you... I feel..."

And he'd retort with this insanely scrunched up face and whiny voice. Defensive and desperate to get out of trouble instead of apologizing and moving on like a grown-up. "Mummy I didn't! Mummy I wasn't! 😢😢 I didn't meeeean to hurt you 😢😢😢"

🤮

[–]iggypiggyfiggyFDS Newbie 213 points214 points215 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

LMAO girl I said ick not vomit 🤮 that’s too funny I’m sorry

[–]whiskey_and_oreosFDS Newbie 194 points195 points196 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

I swear trying to communicate like adults and using "when you do xyz, I feel abc" statements trigger an inner child in LVM and suddenly they're in the principal's office wringing their hands and avoiding eye contact. It's so weird and off-putting.

[–]Platipus6FDS Disciple 157 points158 points159 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

They're allergic to shame. They get flooded and need to dump it back on you, or say whatever it takes to stop mummy being mad with them. I bail at the first sign of shame-dumpers, they need intensive therapy.

[–]whiskey_and_oreosFDS Newbie 87 points88 points89 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Oh absolutely. I wish I had known to bail before marrying (and subsequently divorcing) a guy like this. It never gets better and eventually the whole house smells like shame.

[–]Platipus6FDS Disciple 112 points113 points114 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Exactly. I'd do something normal like clean the house. He'd feel ashamed of how lazy, incompetent and dirty he was, so he'd make me feel ashamed. "ooh look at you. Such high standards. What a clean freak lol".

So then we both sit in a filthy house to avoid shame 🙃

[–]ElegauntFDS Newbie 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

They're allergic to shame. They get flooded and need to dump it back on you

Good insight. It always turns into a starting point for them to feel justified in punishing you for expressing things that made them feel shame. This kind of guy is deeply broken, and he will always blame whichever woman is being patient enough to "communicate" with him.

RUN. Just run ASAP.

Leaving shit laying around at the gym for other people to trip over and putting things in the wrong place because apparently reading numbers is hard. Usually weight plates. Usually the college age ones, but some of these men are middle aged. I’ve not seen one woman neglect to put things back in their spot.

[–]ceramicunicornFDS Disciple 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I find they hog the weightlifting platforms more than anything. Showing up in groups of 2 or 3 at rush hour, 5 minute breaks between sets, it’s infuriating. You want to do that, come at 5AM or early afternoon when it’s dead, not after work! I hope you’re asking how many sets they have. If they just say “a lot”, persist. “About how long?” A few will be real jerks- it’s always these older lunky types who expect female obsequiousness- and you just have to stand your ground. Getting a spot on lift days is always such a production if I don’t get there before 6AM!

[–]msinclaireFDS Newbie 88 points89 points90 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Some years ago my husband and I moved to a rural area where the homes are on 5 and 10 acre parcels.

One Friday night I heard lots of what sounded like a bunch of college boys drinking and tearing it up, yipping and howling in that stupid way young men do.

I commented to my husband that I was disappointed that I thought we’d be far enough away from neighbors that we wouldn’t have to listen to that crap anymore.

He laughed until tears were rolling down his cheeks. “Ok city girl; those are actual coyotes!!”

This guy I was talking to was telling me how he’s so attracted to my motivation and career goals. He proceeded to tell me about how “My friend’s wife works full-time so my friend can follow his dream.” Basically hinting that he wanted to be a stay-at-home-pot-head.

[–]BrightIdeaGeneratorFDS Newbie 221 points222 points223 points 4 years ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

This is where you pretend to miss to the point, and excitedly respond. "I also admire a man's career goals and fantase about being in a power couple!" THEN ask about his goals. Watch his face fall when he realizes you want someone ambitious and won't be his sugar mama.

[–]yogi824FDS Newbie 82 points83 points84 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I remember in my pick-me days, I was a 20 year old college student dating a 28 year old college drop-out who smoked pot and played video games all day. He waited on the occasional table. One day he announced that he’d have no problem with my working while he stayed home full time. I’ve never been so turned on.

[–]whiskey_and_oreosFDS Newbie 129 points130 points131 points 4 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Ugh I knew a guy like this who wanted to find a sugar mama and be a trophy husband. Like unironically. He had a dad bod at like 25 with toothpick arms and legs and the personality to rival unpainted drywall. I told him he had to be a trophy first and he never talked to me again. 🤷🏻

[–]MyLifeIsWandsXIIIFDS Newbie 29 points30 points31 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

LMAO, say what you will about trophy wives, you can never claim that they don't work. They do work...at being a trophy: fitness classes, hair, nails, networking with other wives, etc. Depending on the husband and his field of work, they may give credibility and social status to their husband and even help advance his career through soft (social) skills.

Imagine thinking that you could turn up in wrinkled clothes, dadbod, and no effort and still be someone's trophy.

I was digging this one guy after the first phone call.

The more he spoke, the less attractive he became.

Within a week and a half, my ick list was packed. Here are a few icks, but not all.

  1. Pizza consumption & living on junk food: Within three conversations, twice he mentioned his plans to eat pizza tonight. Additionally, he told me that he doesn't eat healthy foods at all. Ugh. The fact that an adult would order pizza, and not care about eating healthy food was such a turnoff. To top it off, this man had a generous six-figure salary. He could literally afford Uber Eats or whatever sending him high-end healthy delicious restaurant meals, rather than eating like a 10-year old.
  2. Shallow "hobbies": He likes to keep his motorcycle and cars detailed 24/7. On weekends, he likes to ride around in high-traffic touristy areas because his motorcycle is a "work of art that others appreciate." It's one thing to enjoy riding a motorcycle, and keep it in good condition. On the other hand, driving around to show off and get validation and compliments from strangers was such a turn off. What's the point? Who cares, seriously. His view on life screamed shallow.
  3. Wants to skip dating & just get married (or maybe have sex first, and then decide if you're worth marrying?): Told me that he doesn't want to date. He jokingly proposed and came off so strong, after the first date! Like dude. He told me that it's not fair that he has to date someone, and the woman has to see that he's a good guy. He rather spend weekends working on his bike, then socializing and meeting women. Then, he told me that next, after dating for a while, you have to see if "your sexually compatible." I was like, "what? Isn't that easy?" He said, "there's a difference between sexually attracted and sexually compatible." Oh. Like, wtf is this guy into? So yea, his whining and creepy sexually compatible comment grossed me out.
  4. Anger issues: On the date, while he was driving, he went on a long politically charged rant. You could tell that he was bottling up resentments. It's one thing to express frustration, but he was blaming people (actual people in his life, as well as politicians) for his sad disposition.
  5. Neediness: No need to say more.

Hope that typing this out entertained someone!

I gave him a not interested in you text, then blocked, deleted, and went on my merry way :)

[–]SpittensFDS Newbie 48 points49 points50 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

He put jalapeños & Tabasco on everything. I MEAN EVERYTHING, for EVERY MEAL, AND SOAKED HIS PLATE. Tabasco on cornbread & biscuits, even with super salty smokehouse ham. On his steak, in marinara sauce, even once tossed some in my (already infamously delicious, might I add, it's my most requested holiday contribution) potato soup. It was like he couldn't eat anything without it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on either, they have their place and can be amazing flavorings. But I don't want it doused on every. Single. MEAL.

ETA; What I love most about this sub is that y'all just know when there's a ridiculous story behind the seemingly random and silly things like this!

Ok here’s one. This is about my pornsick ex who I’ve mentioned in quite a few comments. So, he was learning how to make 3D & CGI graphics on the computer and was doing a pretty decent job for someone who’d never even drawn a picture before. One day he showed me a character he said he designed based on me. I’d actually already seen him working on the head/face, he’d carefully rendered a hyper-realistic version of me, the detail was similar to that in a lot of video games you see these days.

So I was like wow, that’s literally art of me, how cool! I used to model a bit so I have always enjoyed seeing art & pictures of me, because hey, who doesn’t want to feel like a muse!

Then he went ahead and zoomed out or clicked something so I could see the body. “My” body. Turned out not only had he actually been creating what is essentially 3D porn, the main star was ME, or at least an uncanny-valley version of me— completely nude, rendered in graphic and realistic detail, but the body was basically a toothpick with two massive breasts jutting out, each larger than my actual head.

I can’t describe in mere words how I felt at that moment. Yes it’s indescribable and not in a good way. Considering that I have average size breasts, I think I might have asked him, is this what you want me to look like? Is this what you’re attracted to? But I really don’t remember because I didn’t even care about that anymore.

All I can say for sure is that any remaining attraction I still had to this guy, who id dated on and off for years, was gone in a millisecond. It never came back. I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry at the time. I was just stunned. I never asked to see his “art” again. It took me months longer and a lot worse shit happening for me to finally get out of that situation. but I will never, ever forget that poor balloon-boob version of myself who was probably forced to star in a hell of a lot of bad CGI porn.

Edit- I need to mention that he had literally no idea why I was upset after seeing this monstrosity. Like, no clue whatsoever, and he tried to claim that’s just what he thinks I “actually” look like and that he didn’t think he did anything wrong 🤦🏼‍♀️ I SHIT YOU NOT.

The scrotacity here is unreal. 🤢 What good could he have possibly thought would come from making that and showing it to you? Utter degenerate - I’m so sorry you were in contact with such an utter weirdo.

I really feel for you. We're not supposed to see inside other people's minds. I think the less we're exposed to what goes on in men's minds, the better. When we get a glimpse of real male depravity, it's highly disturbing. Your reaction was normal. His reaction was not. He thought you'd take it as a compliment. They will never understand us.

this one is gonna sound weird but men with very very low pain tolerance?

Like I remember one time my ex touched a hot pot handle that I had just come out of the oven and it's like the world collapsed. he was whining and wouldn't stop complaining the whoooole night. ( btw 5 minutes prior I had made the same mistake, yeah sure it hurt but I didn't even cross my mind to mention it, I just ran my hand in cold water for 20 seconds and moved on. didn't mention it to him). He never did any cooking at his home cuz mom was his private chef but anyone who cooks a lot knows that getting minor cuts/burns etc just happens.

anyways I remember getting the ick that one time and thinking, what a huge whining baby this guy was..

[–]iggypiggyfiggyFDS Newbie 87 points88 points89 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Haha no that’s totally valid. Women have a naturally higher pain tolerance than men. Have you ever seen those videos of men wearing period cramp simulators? They can’t take it for a minute but wanna act like we’re the weak ones.

[–]ElegauntFDS Newbie 11 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is an absolutely valid one. The biggest abuser NVM I ever knew flinched at having his fingernails painted. Like, they were being painted as a joke, and he flinched like it was unbearable before the brush touched his nails.

Unsurprisingly he was also into being violent during sex, he legitimately got aroused by making sure you were hurting and couldn't breathe, but could not handle being on the receiving end of ANY kind of pain.

[–]ccro7FDS Newbie 9 points10 points11 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Oh my God there were so many times I had to console my ex through various injuries of his. Of course, I didn't get much nursing from him when it was my turn.

On a similar note, it's quite funny how pissed off they get when a woman is better at something than they are. But they're so soft, they're not much competition.

How many women, I wonder, could genuinely say that they have met or known an actual 'tough guy'?

[–]carlyraejessie 21 points22 points23 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

He sang me "Crazy Rap" by Afroman which is a gross, sexist song about sleeping with a bunch of women from different ethnicities. He was 32. It was our 3rd date. When I brought up, he whined, "But you're supposed to accept me for who I am! 😢" Dude, I don't even know you yet!

The same guy also loudly talked about his ass to boob ratio preferences at a quiet, nice restaurant and was getting looks from staff and patrons... I called him out and said maybe he shouldn't talk about that so loud cause people are staring and he said he didn't care.

Another guy I went out with did the same thing. So embarrassing. Imagine if I started yelling about my "preferred" dick size. 😂

Soo many:

🚩First date with a guy - he showed up late, in flip flops. His gross toes gave me so much ick, I will never forget that feeling lol. I was wearing a gorgeous summer dress and heels, with hair and makeup done. What a waste of effort

Also he ‘forgot’ to bring his wallet so I had to pay.

🚩Guy I was crushing on got a haircut jt looked awful I realised he was actually ugly lol

🚩Guy talked about how hot certain celebrities are to me, the girl he liked

🚩Guy modelled his work uniform for me (he worked at a supermarket) thinking he looked cool

🚩Guy made me travel to his campus for a first date he asked ME on

🚩Coffee first date (I know, I know better now lol), he told me to ‘go ahead’ and order first lol as if he was being gentlemanly, he just didn’t want to pay for a $3 coffee. Follow up date was McDonalds…

🚩Guy gave me an old necklace that was already rusting as a valentines gift

🚩Guy said my dog (who is adorable) looked creepy

🚩Guys who don’t like dogs

🚩Fat balding guys who are literally only in their early 20s and breathe heavily out of their mouths lol

🚩Guys who order the same dish when we go out every single time no matter what restaurant we go to (e.g. chicken tenders)

🚩 not respecting my personal space. If I need to be left alone, leave me the fuck alone

🚩 having no hobbies. If they don’t have any hobbies, they’re going to sit on their ass and do nothing but watch tv and play video games. Playing nerdy games with friends doesn’t count as a hobby (in my opinion)

🚩 small girly hands

🚩 men who make literally everything feel awkward.

🚩 beer bellies and dad bods 🤢

🚩 men who are not smart with their finances. If you have an extra $20k in your account and there’s a leak in your roof, you fix your goddamn roof, don’t blow your money on stupid shit. That’s your fucking house and black mold will grow if you don’t fix it.

🚩 and this is just my opinion because I’m 2 years sober- but I personally won’t date a guy who does drugs or gets drunk regularly. I can’t be around that shit. I’m beyond the party stages of my life and like it that way. Also, I can’t date a smoker. I quit smoking almost 4 years ago and now the smell literally makes me gag.

There are so many more things that bother me but I’ve been extremely irritable lately so maybe that’s part of it idk.

I had a guy tell me on a first date (first date!! he couldn't even keep from showing his ass for one date!! 🤦🏻‍♀️) about how when he was younger, he wanted to name his dog "Syndrome" so that he could tell it to sit by saying "Down, Syndrome".

Instant ick.

I swear men just say words sometimes and don't have a single clue how they come across to other people. If that was him on his "best behaviour" while trying to get with me, I can't imagine what he'd be like after he actually gets a girl and stops putting in effort.

I could say many other things about that date alone (so much love bombing, he also made a cancer joke, had a "crazy" ex-girlfriend 🙄).

This was pre-FDS for me and I'm glad that even then I knew enough to see the red flag parade for what it was and drop him, but post-FDS, if I ever encounter a dude like that again, I'm just going to walk out, because that was such a waste of an afternoon-

on a date I asked him what he would go back to school for if he could study anything in the world...he said he would never go back to school. I dunno why but it gave me the ick. Like really? You wouldn't want to learn about ANYTHING?

Here’s a semi-complete list:

When he has holes in his socks Spitting in public When he has bad grammar When he speaks like a roadman Using a cheap umbrella that flips in the wind When he’s the ugly friend Eating with his mouth open If he doesn’t drive Baby talk Using too many emojis (really any at all) Bad manners Lies about his height if he smokes cigarettes and he’s not European Walks slower than me Rude to his mom Can’t do laundry Repeating jokes or repeating himself A MULLET Dry lips or dried toothpaste on his face he’s controlling Wears flip flops When he sleeps late into the day Sweats at night Only has 1 pillow bad hygiene Says he can’t cook has a moustache Wears sliders When he’s too serious When his towels are scratchy If he has the blue plaid bedspread Uses his phone too much Sells drugs Punches the wall when he’s angry Wears sweatpants out of the house When he’s bald When he asks for your Snapchat only listens to grime When he Doesn’t smell nice When he’s aggressive

Recently an young man that I kept turning down, who is in the same friend circle as me, deleted me off of his Facebook. When I asked him why, bc actually in my head we had grown to become close friends, he told people I was “crazy” for asking. I only asked because I know he has a history of mental health issues & he seemed to be acting erratically. So because I led myself to believe we were “friends” I wanted to see if he was ok. So after a hour of that abuse, in a closed Facebook group with mutual friends I let it go. Then he followed me around in this group calling me insane & he got one of his friends that is a woman to do the same to me. Tagging me in posts calling me insane, making up lies about me.

This is just the craziest thing that has happened recently. I believe it’s because when he asked me out I gently kept turning him down but it seems as if he made himself believe I would send him nudes. I haven’t even sent nudes to the guy I have been dating on & off online since 2019. So he deluded himself then exploded bc he couldn’t control me. Extremely sick behavior, but seems common among men online.

He tried to get the attention of a bar man after waiting for ages and was ignored, some other guy walked up and got their attention straight away. There was no coming back.

He kissed by literally sticking his tongue out so our tongues were touching and moving but lips weren't touching. It was so ick. I went along with it because I froze and didn't know how to decline. Ugh. He was a nice guy but I don't understand the kiss.

Saw the (good looking, well-groomed) guy through a window, he was picking his nose and out came a long strand of mucous connecting nose to finger.

It even became a joke for a while in our circle - a good looking guy with a big character flaw would be described as a 'stringy bogey guy' lol.

Being on his phone the entire date

Not responding to a question or paying attention to the conversation.

Talking about his ex in any form.

One date I aborted before it started... he literally wanted me to confirm over text that I would screw him after dinner, on our first date, even though I made it clear I was living with my mom and she and I shared a room... he threw a mantrum, again over text, about how he "has the body of a God" and that "you should be GLAD I want to fuck a fat pig like you!" .... never ran from a date so fast before.

Another literally told me that "when you get in shape, message me and send me a picture." And basically said I shouldn't talk to him until then.

Mansplaining anything that I just talked extensively on, especially if he was rejecting the concept entirely just a moment ago, or is just regurgitating what i said, just trying to frame it as correcting me or something.

Old fashioned beliefs like "men shouldn't do any housework or childcare because they earn money for the woman to stay home" like... over 50% of households have both partners working, and who knows how many of the ~45% are the woman being the only one who wroks...

Any indication that he thinks periods "aren't that bad" or that pregnancy is way easier than women make it out to be, or putting down mothers/single mothers as a collective. Putting women down in general.

Wanting me to call them daddy, especially if I already told them my dad died when I was a preteen.

Playing devils advocate on human rights issues, or health issues. I.e. arguing against vaccines for the hell of it.

Being so insecure that he "needs" me to be on the phone with him every second of free time I have.

Playing down any struggle I describe having "pffft AdHd IsNt ThAt BaD!" Especially if he is nerodivergent too.

Talking about himself way too much, not bothering to learn anything about me.

Pointing out my weight or other physical traits as if I don't have eyes.

Treating me like I'm a 2 yo who has no sense of common knowledge.

Saying I'm different from other girls. 1. I am a woman, not a girl and 2. Putting other women down isn't the building me up you think it is, bub.

Referring to women as females or girls.

Defending any man, no matter how blatently inhumane or evil he is.

Any sort of racist remarks, based on the assumption that because I'm white i must be racist too.

Saying I look better in person than in my photos. Like dude, quit lying. My pfps are carefully picked, and some I have edited to improve my looks... not like facetune, but bumping up the contrast a bit so my red cheeks and blue eyes stand out.

Most of these are from my online dating days, which I dropped. I had recently went onto a site I used to frequent to see what the scene has been like, and it has only gotten worse.

I know this one is mentioned a lot here but going 50/50 on a date. It's cheap af and I lose attraction instantly. I felt this way even before I found fds!

I had a third date with a guy who insisted on cooking for me. He was just ‘learning’ new recipes (learning to cook-as a mid 40s man, abandoned by his last girlfriend mommy). He sat me down at the table and I painfully watched him pull ziploc baggies out of the fridge with everything pre measured and cut for the stir fry recipe down to the last sad little carrot. I was so horrified by the neurosis behind this I could barely eat. Lastly he added a fried egg, which I am intolerant to, but he had to add because ‘the recipe said’. The bits of egg were too small to pick out so I was on the toilet for the next 2 days, where from I happily sent him a text saying, it’s not me, it’s you. LOL

When I denied his advances to hang out, he texted me “Is it because I’m ugly?”. Now mind you, I didn’t think he was attractive but I wouldn’t say ugly neither. But when he said that, I literally felt repulsed by him.

When my causin said that all women who are 30 above are menopause, when he himself is 34. Never thought that even my causin is a scrote too. I'm so disappointed in him, didn't even gifted something to his own mother on her birthday. I warned my mom's friend not to be with him. He also has daddy issues and vices. Edit: added men who have vices.

I guy I dated for a couple of weeks was always complimenting me on my looks, how beautiful he thinks I was. All was ok, until he mentioned I was the number #2 most beautiful woman in the world, because #1 was reserved for Ana De Armas. We were literally having pillow talk after sex when he said that. He also had ED during that. He was shocked when I stopped dating him LOL.

My ex used to say things that sounded vaguely gay, like, if he and another man liked the same hobby, he'd say something dumb like, "Oh, you're a man after my own heart."

I'm like, WTF, why would a man be after your heart. STFU with that. He was so fucking awkward, it totally gave me the ick.

When a man smells bad (bad breath, sweaty or smelly armpits or feet). Or bad hygiene in general.

Smell is my only pet peeve - yet it often feels like asking them to NOT stink all the time is too much to ask. Is this REALLY such a high standard to have?

Like, yes I understand that people can sweat more than others, which is fine, but we're also adults. Know your body and deal with it, like the rest of us do.

When he could not accept the fact that another co-worker was considered attractive by all the women in the office. Telling me this guy "looks old for his age". It's hard to respect someone who can't accept cold hard facts, and who dismisses the point of view of 100% of women.

Idk how your post unlocked this memory, but I used to date a dude who randomly pantomimed that there's a giant robot nearby. Like, he made "robot" sounds, heavy stumps sounds and pretended to shake as if the ground around us is shaking because something big is approaching. He did like 3-4 times before we broke up (surprisingly, for a different reason) and if you think we were kids at a time, nope, he was 24.
