I read a post on here once that said men have a key nonnegotiable standard when it comes to women they’d be open to dating: JDBF. I feel a lot of ways about it.

For starters, it validates how I feel as a young fat woman. But I also (interestingly) find this privilege almost comforting — like I really just need to follow one rule.

JDBF very much confirms how I’ve felt for the better part of two decades: “My life would be so much better if I were thin” and this without a doubt applies to my love life.

My weight is the one thing I’ve struggled with my entire life. So this sentiment also makes me feel absolutely fucking doomed… like, no matter how much effort I put into literally any other part of my life, it doesn’t matter if I don’t follow JDBF.

What do you think? Obviously there are a handful of other extremes when it comes to standards, but is JDBF the answer to every single fat woman’s dating troubles?

As a sidenote, I’m really curious to see what the longterm effects of drugs like Ozempic are on dating trends.

Edit: reread the post if you’re about to comment about cico or any weightloss advice, thanks!
