I can count on one hand the amount of women outside of family that I'd choose to spend time without sex being at least a possibility.

Generally these women were incredibly funny, spontaneous and just had a contagious energy that felt good to be around. None of the 'spoiled' nonsense. None of the "joke policing" etc.

I've known about 3-4 of these women in my several decades on earth, and while rare, they do exist.

This is what I've been saying for years. All we have to do is think back to the time before puberty. None of the boys in elementary school wanted anything to do with girls, and I assume the reverse was equally true. We loved to play sports and engage in other physically demanding activities, but girls couldn't do those things. Our interests didn't seem to align on any level, and that carried on into adulthood. Just take a look at the contents of women's magazines. What do we find there: fashion advice, celebrity gossip, romance advice, makeup tutorials. Meanwhile, men are reading about the latest hunting gear, high performance cars, developments in technology, military stuff, etc. Countless articles have been written by psychologists, saying that men and women have problems communicating, that we don't understand each other. All this tells us is that on the most fundamental levels, we just don't work well with members of the opposite sex. Without the sex drive, men and women would have no reason at all to seek out each other's company, and would probably live happier lives avoiding each other altogether.

My best friend of the last 10 years is a man and vice versa. Most of my longest lasting close relationships of 10-15+ years are men. And I've never slept with any of them. And many of my friendly less close relationships are with men and with no sex available ever or considered.

We just like each other and share stuff in common and are emotionally and intellectually connected and find the other safe and pleasant.

And this whole thing about men being deeper is just crap and there's really no evidence for it. Inb4 men built everything: firstly, they did not, google female inventors, scientists, philosophers, artists and educate yourself. Next, realize women were and are the main educators of society. We reared men, raised them, and taught them. And then, until recently, we supported, inspired, and aided them in their efforts while having our own responsibility to home and children. Without us doing that, they would not do shit. And, all while many of them stole from us and took credit for our ideas and work. All the triumphs of men belong as much to them as the women who birthed, raised, educated, and then aided and cared for them during marriage and with their work. But oh yeah, no, men built it all, silly us.

Fucking hell, it's really lucky there are good men out there because the bad men are becoming insufferable and it doesn't feel like we are breeding them out fast enough. IMO I have to agree, I first aproached all my current female friends because I found them physically appealing and wanted to have sex with them. The ones I kept as friends after I found they were in a relationship were the ones that I found interesting as persons too, but my main drive to have anything to do with them was sex, and if I had the chance to sleep with any of them, I would take it.

It’s an interesting thought experiment. The question here though isn’t necessarily if it wasn’t for sex, would most men not bother with woman at all? And in fairness vice versa as well.

The question here is if we remove sex from the equation completely is there actually any fundamental differences between the genders?

If it wasn’t for sex; men and woman would presumably just interact as people in general. Some would get along. Some wouldn’t. Nobody would make an effort to either seek out or hide from the other. There would just be organic none sexual relationships across the board.

If there are however fundamental differences in personality traits that remain evident in the absence of sexual desire; than it will depend on whether each gender finds those traits intrinsically appealing or not.

I think it’s complicated and a mixture of both as there are certain stereotypical gender traits that are attractive to most people regardless of the context of sex-and certain traits that are only attractive within the context of sex.

For example deeply confident(to the point of cocky) dominant, ultra masculine men are very attractive to woman in the context of sexual desire. Woman might say they want a meek sensitive nice emotional guy but we all know this isn’t true in the context of sex. They want the most assertive guy possible. However remove sex from the equation and it does suddenly become very easy to believe woman will want naturally sensitive “feminine” guys in their lives rather then the typically masculine “bad boy” they quite clearly gravitate to sexually- and then complain about when they get dumped.

Outside the content of sex we can start believing all the woman who harp on about “toxic masculinity” because a lot of women genuinely won’t be attracted( on a none sexual human level) to many things we associate with masculinity. Most guys don’t want sociopathic competitive aggressive male friends so we can assume what a big turn off these sexually appealing traits will become to woman when her libido is removed from the equation.

I think though this is less true of how men are drawn to typically “feminine” traits. Men are certainly so drawn to typically “feminine” woman partly because of sex. But what’s important is how sexual desire in this context relates to procreation rather than just base carnal desire. Femininity( in terms of personality traits) means a kind and nurturing nature. These are wonderful traits in the context of reproductive sex( she’s going to make a great mother) but also just in life in general.

There is absolutely nothing unappealing about a typically feminine woman to most guys and being “feminine” is not just dependent on a sexual component. Most men love their mothers so much because they are the most feminine(I.E nurturing) figure in their lives. Most men( even those on here many will berate as being misogynistic) intrinsically love Woman completely beyond any sexual component because they are drawn to people that are going to treat them like their mothers. In simplistic terms; people like people that are nice to them and “niceness” is a typically feminine trait.

Of course the problem is a massive amount of men don’t feel modern woman are inherently “feminine” or “nice” at all. They feel a massive amount of modern woman are simply diet versions of men. Take away the sexual component and that’s not particularly appealing to many men. You have somebody that’s almost certainly not as funny or as interesting as your male friends but that’s still just as aggressive and competitive and obnoxious as they…all the while not being able to resolve conflict in the same way you would if billy boy was pissing you off.

There are plenty of amazing women who add value to other people's lives that have nothing to do with sex. Some of those are our family members and our friends.

I think you should have focused on how in many romantic relationships men get less than they give from women emotionally and that men mainly tolerate this for sex. I do think that men are blamed to often for caring only about sex while women aren't blamed for not self-improving on those things that have nothing to do with sex.

Often women are told by society that those things they should put work into are sex/looks and doing household chores. But when it comes to deeper things such as being self-aware, taking accountability in arguments, not saying hurtfull things, emotional self-control no one generally tells women to improve themselves. I do think men put up with this because they want sex and children and probably also because they are taught from a young age to neglect their own feelings.
