I'm glad about the changes, especially those regarding low effort posts and post flairs.

Some questions that came to my mind:

Since all podcast criticism should remain in the weekly discussion thread what does this mean for the PODCAST DISCUSSION flair? Is that one obsolete now? Or can and should we use it when referring to later episodes? Personally I like this flair and I would have made one post for each podcast episode if I had had more time. I do plan on doing so in the future when I'm less busy and the flair is still up (after all podcast episodes stay up too and there are always new members/listeners). I wouldn't use the flair for flaming ofc.

Can you specify the contents of the new FLIRTING TIPS and MEET CUTE STORIES flairs? FLIRTING TIPS seems rather obvious. Nomen est omen, I guess? MEET CUTE STORIES - could you provide an example? Do you mean our own stories or do stories from strangers pass too? How about tiktoks? Are users allowed to post tiktoks in line with this flair?

I am glad that there will be more constructive posts rather than just screenshots of general "scrotery". That has a place but it's just not as useful to us as other types of posts and it just adds gasoline to the fires that enemies of the movement use against us.

Yay, welcome back! I stop by this sub regularly and hope to be brave enough to post in the future. I’m 40 years old, was divorced by 24 - I learned A LOT over the years and am now working out how best to pass it on to my little one (her teens aren’t too far away). I’d like to share a little about my husband too, not in a showing off way but to illustrate the differences between who I chose AFTER I learned my own value compared with the nightmare I volunteered for in my early 20s. Would have been great to get such advice from a more experienced woman when I was young but heigh ho, maybe I can provide it for my daughter & anyone else who is interested. I'm super excited about the "renovation," absolutely on board with all the changes. The Suggestion Sundays and the "no low effort posts" rules are awesome.

Believe it or not, expecting people to adhere to our subreddit rules and banning people who fall foul of them or who try to push an alternativeagenda is not exclusive to FDS.

Didn't realize how often I opened Reddit to check this sub on a daily basis before it went private. I'm thankful that it's back, because there are times when I'd just scroll down and read through posts as a form of reminder to treat myself better. FDS helped me to realize a lot of emotional abuse I was going through and I felt more vulnerable without this sub.

I don't have a flair yet, but I came across a comment that explained mods still review the comments we post even if they're invisible. That makes me feel more hopeful because the comments don't just disappear automatically, but are behind a proper filtering process. I'll be patient and find ways to comment more helpful stuff now.

I haven't seen criticisms(amongst fans) about the podcast except mine(in relation to the host whitewashing why police treat black/white people differently). I usually see praises which are the only comments to receive the highest upvotes 🤷‍♀️.

I'm so glad FDS is back! I physically felt the loss. FDS provides a sisterhood of sorts, it's inspiring to hear women reclaim their self respect or move forward in their lives. Also, the amount of radical opinions floating about was another insight into what men think about women having an exclusive space for themselves.

From a mod perspective most time’s when I investigate a flair request.

The person has no karma at all - zero history on Reddit.

Or no comment history here in the past 3-6 months.

At most…they might of made one low effort comment here months ago which is still not enough to warrant a flair.

So their constant screeching about comments not going through is a lie 95% of time’s. And coming from men or lib fems.

Investigating these fake flair requests constantly is a waste of mods time. Which is why we’re not doing it.

Imagine constantly scrolling through users history to find they’ve never commented here.

Waste of time.

Because the vast majority are men. Or barely contributed here.

If you’re active on the sub you will get flaired.

I approve comments all the time so I’m just not buying the users saying they’re in here 24:7 & not getting a flair. When you inspect it turns out they’re lying.

And flairs are for active users…..not just any old person who wants to comment.

We can’t confirm someone’s female if they’ve made one low effort comment 6 months ago.

They’re usually men trying to infiltrate and demand a flair.

We can’t defend the subs boundaries AND hand out flairs like candy 24/7.

If you’re active, be patient. You’ll get seen.

The only reason this sub isn’t flooded by men is because we don’t give out flairs so freely.

YAY we’re back!! I mainly use reddit for FDS. Usually I just lurk’n’learn, but gotta chime in here to thank the mods - it must be a lot to deal with, but truly, you’re helping so many women out. I appreciate your clear thinking and navigating through this all, so we can continue to learn and grow and support each other and ultimately stop women from getting into/returning to abusive, sad, or dead end types of -ationships.

Most people who are crtizing this site are low and no value men and their cohorts. Just imagine if their were a revolution and all women stopped catering to these people who add no value to our lives. Thank you mods for providing a platform for women to come together to vent and provide support to each other. It's much needed in a sea of sites that push for us to accept any kind of behavior and be mistreated simply to say I have a "man". Like that's some kind of reward. Every woman needs to be a member of this site to be reminded it's ok to have standards and to not accept anything less then to be treated with love, kindness, and respect.

Can someone please explain the flair issue?

I've had comments deleted because I don't have a flair, but I don't know how to get one.

I actually by pure coincidence almost asked the mods for a flair today. Which would have resulted in a ban. I'm glad I saw and read this post by chance.

I deeply value the information that I have found here and this sub has genuinely helped me improve my self worth. I would love to be able to contribute.

And likely this comment will also be deleted because, again, I don't have a flair.

Your vegan comparison is on point. Except FDS empowers women for themselves instead of the benefit of men, and therefore it is evil. Can’t have you arming women with education and positive vibes.

And thank you for sticking to your guns, it doesn’t matter if you actually want to date. Looking at all your relationships through an FDS lens is essential, and the intimacy of a romantic relationship is a critical vehicle for learning about yourself and the nature of other people, especially men.

Yes on the low effort posts ban! I’m so glad y’all took the time to regroup. I think the low effort/no strategy misery porn was the only thing that was “ruining” the sub for me.

I’m a DV survivor and I KNOW how awful men can be. But being constantly paranoid won’t help me. This sub helped me pick myself up when I was at lowest/greatest: after I left my ex husband and took myself and my kids to the shelter.

It helped me understand my value and how to recognize it in men. We need this sub! Thank you for all that you do. I’m excited about the new rules!

I missed FDS so much in the meantime! It’s the sole reason that my reddit existence revolves around 😭💜

I just pray for the long existence of the sub, as I always live in perennial fear of what if the sub would be wiped out or cracked down on one day. If I missed it so much for a short while, I’d be so void without FDS as a true safe space for women on the internet.

Welcome back! I hope I make the cut!! I was nervous when the sub was closed and asked for a flair :/ I've been hoping it would happen for months and I panicked!! Either way, I'm so glad the sub will be returning to its roots and dedicated to more positivity and effective dating strategies. Things were getting a little dark there with all the negativity.
