Young women have A LOT of problems getting into relationships. I have plenty of friends in their mid 20’s who have never had a relationship. For those that have managed that I know of it’s mostly apps, then mutual friends. Girls will match make for each other (inviting two friends to the same party for example).

Getting sex however is easy if you are average and above, because some men are happy to fuck anything with a vagina. Particularly drunk men or men on drugs. Go to a club as a woman and at least half the men there will probably happily jack hammer you.

Also remember a lot of women are single and/or may not always be on dating apps but have short stints (the category I fall into before I come to my senses and delete the apps again… and the cycle begins again)

Talking to people they kinda know or have mutual friends with on social media. Either posting a thirst trap on their story (even just a crop top or something) and hoping someone they’re into will react to it or sliding into a guy’s DM’s. Some people still meet at bars but I’ve noticed that this usually only happens in big enough cities where you won’t see people you know or went to high school with. Most of these people are above average in a city or below average in a small town from what I’ve noticed.

I’ve known one that met a guy online and he was the complete opposite of what his pictures were and at was at least 10 years older than he said. Meeting through your social circle has always been ideal as there’s a better chance of you knowing they aren’t an asshole, already married etc.

You figure, with all of the single men, there has to be a lot of single unattached women. There are nearly as many women as men in the population. Maybe the women are hooking up; who knows? But, what woman wants to do that forever? Or, when she's older and less attractive physically? Good luck.

I also personally know a fair number of women that have a very strong desire to be alone. Some are quite attractive; they have good jobs, travel, etc. They probably have some opportunities to meet people. But, they seem to have little desire to date or get into relationships. I don't think that they're hooking up either.

I've seen some begin to reach the age over the years where they aren't as attractive physically anymore. I think that it's a pity that they may not be able to get the partner that they want, should they desire to seek a relationship later in life. They're probably missing their chance.

For the last time, dating apps have a skewed gender ratio at a given point in time. Over long time periods, the skew disappears.

Men tend to stay on the apps and keep swiping. Women use the apps, either find someone or get frustrated, and get off. So at any given moment, Tinder is 80/20 guy/girl, but roughly equal numbers of men and women use apps.

34% of men and 27% of women have used apps, across all ages. For young people it’s 50%+. This doesn’t include social media as far as I know.

Girls tend to have bigger social circles than most men. They go to parties. They go to clubs. They go to work events. Girls go out. That's why they're the main spenders in the American world compared to men. That's why there are so many systems in place to transfer money from men to women. All because women go places and spend money more so than men.

The same way men go out looking for sex, is the same way women go out looking for men for to be in relationships with. When only 30 or 40% of men actively participate in that kind of stuff, that's how girls end up dating and competing for the same guys. By adulthood, he outbursty, over enthusiastic, and explorative nature of young boys has basically been beaten out of the by schools and society. Most socially active men are typically older dudes who have built themselves to a point up to a point where social gathering are the least of their worries and dont bother them or they're the naturally popular social dudes. But as a group, men don't go out the way women go out. And once men give up on sex a lot of them have desire to go anywhere but work and back home.

If you have Tinder, then go to your local seeking arrangements website. You'd be amazed how many of the same girls show up there.

And also, women lie about their usages of these apps. A women will give a man a whole bj and swallow his seed and say it doesn't count toward her body count because she didn't really like him. That's the population that's being polled here. Think about all the profiles you've seen where a girl is like "can't believe I'm back on this app". During the time they're not on the app, they probably mark themselves as not using it. A better indicator would be have they ever used the dsting apps.

I'm happily married (met my husband through my best friend), but in a hypothetical world where I was currently single, I don't think I'd use dating apps. They all seem pretty horrible, to be honest. Between my friend group and their wider social circles, going to concerts, and being active with things like kayaking and camping, I'd like my chances of finding someone who shares at least some of my interests. At most I'd join one of those "social clubs" where single people sign up to do outdoor activities and if some people happen to hit it off, then excellent.

But my husband and I often remark how happy we are that we never had to use dating apps. Some of our friends use them and the positive/negative balance is...pretty bad.

I don't understand some of the users of this sub with this perception that the only/best way to meet new women is through dating apps?

I'm a 31 year old guy, I have dated and gone out with many people, not a single one of them has been from a dating app. It could be someone I met in a class, someone I met through work, a friend of a friend I meet at a party, someone I met in a karaoke bar, someone I met in a dance class, someone I meet in a coffee shop, hell I met someone by vaping outside of a bar and they were alone so I invited in to the conversation my friends and I were having etc.

There seems to be this weird bitter perception about how you can't approach girls because it's creepy, but it's only creepy if you make it creepy. And believe me, I've seen guys make it weird.

It's not hard to approach someone and just start a conversation "Hey, good job on your song" "thanks, you did well too" "what's your name?" "Jessy" "I'm Max, do you want to grab a drink?"

I think the problem for a lot of guys here is they see approaching as "How do I convince this person to fuck me?" instead of "that person looks cute/seems fun, let's get to know them" so they basically act like the annoying people asking for donations outside and you see them approach you trying to strike up a conversation and you just want to run away cause you know they want something.

They might meet someone at college, work, bars and clubs, through friends and social circles, at parties and events, etc. Or through social media that isn’t a dating app. And if women are meeting men through these avenues and not really using dating apps, it follows that men must be meeting women this way too, and probably not having much success from the apps. A lot of people do meet that way, but a man certainly shouldn’t limit himself to apps.

My one single girlfriend is on dating apps. 3 of my girlfriends (including one who is married) met their partners on a dating app. Granted, most of them used it a few years ago, but women are still using them. I was on a few before dating my boyfriend.

But beyond that, they’re either dating someone they knew before, or they met through friends, or they met at work.

I met my boyfriend on a co-ed sports team. Another guy friend is dating a server at a bar he goes to a lot. I also once scored a date after a volunteer event.

When you live socially in the world and regularly interact with others, there will be opportunities to meet people who could be romantic possibilities. It also helps to find your niche.

I don't know about anyone else, but I met my husband by chance on a chat site. It was an avatar chat site called, 'The Doll Palace'. We started talking on AIM after that and then started talking on the phone for hours every night (we'd sometimes fall asleep on the phone together). Then after a year or so met in person and got married within 2 weeks of hanging out.

(This was around the early 2000s. Not sure if chatrooms are still a thing where you can meet real people and not just rando creeps/bots, btw, so this probably wouldn't work nowadays. Plus I was still in school, so literally the majority of my free time was devoted to talking to my husband over chat or the phone when I wasn't at school, eating dinner with my family or at church, or out on errands with my mom, etc).
