Idk if it's an unpopular take per se, but it's become very clear that contemporary dating advice is all pretty much bullshit. People like different things, but the majority of women like a guy with his shit together who takes no guff, and the majority of men like a girl who looks good and has an easygoing attitude.

It ain't hard to see, and it makes sense; yin needs yang and yang needs yin. Of course, there are plenty of couples that flip the norm or defy it entirely, but that's how things generally work.

People will, without fail, leave their current partners if they think they can get feasibly an 'upgrade', even if their current relationship is great. Commitment, 'love', etc are bullshit terms we use to make ourselves feel better, but ultimately fall apart under pressure.

Women usually care for their partners needs more than their partner cares for theirs. And he literally just gets to relax and do his hobbies while I work another half time job. If we are married, and he proves to me prior to the marriage that he understands and respects the investment I am making, than I'm ok whit all of it, I guess. But I'm just fine single too so I don't really care that much.

When it comes to LTRs, I think women are highly varied in terms of what life goals they want their partner to share (kids/no kids, importable of college education, career aspirations) along with any hobbies or intellectual pursuits they'd want their partner to have in common. I see TRP people broad brushing women as more “basic” than they are. On the other hand when it comes to traits that trigger visceral attraction, you know the stuff that tickles the hind brain, I haven’t seen much variation from one woman to the next when you focus on their actions rather than their words. In that respect, they’re not so varied.

By the time Generation z gets to their 50s and 60s I personally believe the younger dating generation (Generation Z grandkids) of that time will go back to more traditional dating techniques because what we have currently is not going to sustain us humans as a whole. There’s a reason why traditional dating and marriages lasted so long and is practiced around the world.
Marriage is not about happiness, it’s about duty.
Women don’t practice what they preach when it comes to dating. If they did, then men with a lot of money and that are known for cheating and are so called “toxic” wouldn’t get a lot of women. Woman just say what’s necessary to make women as a whole not look bad. But their actions state otherwise.

If a first date doesn't turn into a second date, the most common reason is a lack of physical attraction.

I would assume this if it's a blind date. But why would two people be on a date if they weren't physically attracted?

I think if you meet on OLD that's a bit closer to a blind date, as you don't know how they will compare to their photos. But is it enough to conclude that physical attraction is more likely to have been the reason than all the other factors (whether you're fun, funny, have an interesting life, good goals, etc.)

If dating for men is a supply and demand curve then things like motorcycles are quite literally there because they're dangerous and they "decrease" your supply in a way because there are more possibilities for you to die.

I'd use the candle metaphor to explain this.

Every person has a candle that represents their lifetime and everyone also has a flame. Women are attracted to the men with the most intensely burning flame, regardless of how that affects his life expectancy.

You could also use the car metaphor. If life is a highway and we're all going the same place, women are attracted to the men living in the fast lane.

The point is, the more women you attract, the bigger the trade offs are in other parts of your life. If you aren't naturally born with a huge candle or superb driving skills then those tradeoffs means death comes sooner because you're literally trading life energy to attract people whom you expend MORE life energy on.

Lingering sexism is so bad that the vast majority of men, in most cultures, are barely adequate as partners. In a western context specifically, men aren't competing against other men, rather as women get older and wiser, men are actually competing against women's single lives. Of course there's loneliness, the desire for a family, and companionship, but women are obliged to weigh those desires against the potential for violence, the potential that a partner will immediately start using her as a maid, the potential that a partner will feel entitled to her "submission" and thus feels entitled to demand she expend her labour and efforts on his program or swabbing the deck on his damn ship or whatever analogy tradcons like to use nowadays.

Men will then turn around and characterize this selectivity as shit like "hypergamy" and scream about the 80/20 rule. The real solution is "don't be a sexist arsewit", but instead they'll create entire ideologies around how to trick women into dating them or, more extremely, lobby for a return to a time when women had to be married to survive.

Tldr, most men don't need to lift, they need to go to therapy, but that isn't as fun to be told as "women suck, there's nothing for it except go to gym".

In my experience e I went out on a date with a guy who had no issue telling me I was beautiful. It didn’t turn out to a second date because he was wanting me to do all the work and wanting to be chased. He did ask me out to see how far he could get with me, but left the rest to me. He also already had a gf he was cheating on too. But I do agree with the first point still, but it could also be attraction to personality.
