It’s total and utter codswallop. Most single men feel at least some level of loneliness and sexual frustration to the extent that they’re perfectly motivated to find a girlfriend.

Now, what you may encounter is men who find a girl attractive enough to have sex with but not attractive enough to fall for her as a girlfriend, but that does not mean that men are turning the girl down because they’re afraid of commitment, don’t like female company or don’t like relationships. It’s just that the girl in question is better than nothing.

Case in point, of the most recent dozen or so women I’ve had sex with since my last girlfriend, 10 of them were “OK-level” women who simply weren’t sexually attractive enough to be a girlfriend. 2 of them were absolutely beautiful and I’d have gladly halved my life expectancy to make them my girlfriend.

Men being willing to have sex with women but not girlfriend them is not because they don’t want relationships or women in general.

I know lots of women whose husbands aren't that different from their exes in terms of attractiveness/financial/education levels. A few have better-looing or wealthier husbands, but I don't know much examples of "settling down".

I care a lot more about the kind of energy he exudes than his looks. Things like his posture, the way he walks and carries himself, the way he speaks. If a 7/10 man radiates a sense of masculinity and confidence I'll prefer him to the shy, wimpy 8/10. The intensity of attraction depends on his energy not his looks. (Men have to pass the looks bar of course, but the bar isn't as high as the men here think and quite dependant on the individual women.)

I’m like 5’4 and though I have my issues , social sense I lost weight and grew a beard/ fixed my wardrobe I do well in social settings with girls. I’ve gotten numbers but this has taken time after being the obese awkward but nice kid in high school. I genuinely believe you have to find a way to fake it/ really analyze the situation if you are inexperienced. I’m still not near fit and of course some dickheads will mention my high but it’s very rare. I’ve always been a natural extrovert, I just now know how to adapt to different environments and make a first impression that shows confidence and being bold. Issue is confidence comes with time and validation. You will fail a lot as your grow but you just can’t give in to rejection and you have to be determined not to fail. Easier said than done and I still don’t have it easy. But from reddit Stan point I should be a shell in incel (was close and I understand how men will fall down that path) who can’t be near women.

Edit: I do think people underestimate just how important social validation at a young age can make or break a person. I was looking to have great experiences In elementary. But middle school/high school really tested me and tbh I still suffer from what I went through in that time period but because I had a good support system I some how started to better myself. Now In college I’m getting social validation finally.

I'm gonna say one thing is height. I think short women generally are happy with guys who are shorter, not 5 foot 1 short but short relative to other men. I don't think it has the intoxicating hold over women that it is portended to. I've even heard my ex say 'no that's just too tall for me' and the guys were like optimal height by my reckoning. Maybe she's with a 6 foot 4 guy now, I dunno but she was 5'3' and her ex before me was like 5'7''(I''m 5 '8' and she once asked me 'am I too small for you?' She was quite into traditional male female roles but height didn't seem to factor into it for her, more attitude.

Conversely, she didn't exactly make it seem that kindness was the most important trait a man should have, more like social charisma and dominance. But I don't think anybody really objects to this. Kindness to her mattered more than people's external view on my kindness. I remember once I held a door open for a family to a restaurant and let them go ahead and by doing so they got the last available seats, she went absolutely crazy!

On the flip side of height, while it doesn't matter I am thinking of good looking guys. A tall average looking guy is going to get a much hotter girl than a short average guy. Tall guys can be fat and still get cute girls. The girl will be the type that says 'looks don't matter' but what they love is the masculinity of the robust male.

Agreed with yours. That’s why I think this sub is made up of a lot of young neurotic white boys because grown women really don’t have these “Chad” standards for men. Even really attractive women usually don’t want a man who is physically as good looking as them because it’s intimidating.

Most real life age gap relationships aren’t 21 year old amateur models with 45 year old Donald Trump businessmen. Reddit seems to believe this. Most are between low to middle income unattractive people.

Not all women have lots of sex or relationship options or have men hitting on them everywhere they go.

I don't see a correlation between positive social media comments about a woman's looks and how arrogant she views herself in SMV.

The women who seek attention on social media tend to be the most insecure people I ever met and relatively easy to date because they are advertising themselves as available.

The expections are when they are selling something and using their looks to boost those sells.

I haven’t seen most of the things discussed - probably around 90% of these things - because I have been almost completely shut out of female interaction my entire life. I don’t take the reporting here too seriously though. I know only certain types of people gravitate here and even fewer are vocal about their experiences.

Working class men with any amount of occupational and financial competency having trouble getting a wife with a degree. Jeez guys, registered nurse with a degree married to carpenter who did an apprenticeship is like a fucking cliche around here. The entire allied health range of professionals who usually have degrees is breeding like rabbits with builders, plumbers, guys who work FIFO on the mines, guys who got a six month TAFE (like community college) certificate and now run tech support for a medium sized company etc.

Women getting more degrees than men is not a statistical emergency.
