All I know is I had a friend who was 5'2 and 250ish pounds.

She got soo much dick from dating apps. I was impressed at the guys she could pull. I mean men who were objectively very successful and good looking were wanting to hook up and "date." We live next to a major US hospital and it was common for her to brag about hooking up with some hot doctor. She definitely wasn't lying as she would send me screen shots of their texts all the time. (We both talked a lot about our dating lives in explicit detail).

The problem was as soon as she asked for commitment, the pigeons took flight. No one wanted her to be their girlfriend. The excuses she would get were:

I'm afraid a relationship will kill the chemistry.
I'm not ready to settle down because I'm a young guy.
My parents are super conservative, so I can't introduce you to them. I don't want them to know I'm dating rn. They'll put too much pressure on me.
I have feelings for you, but they're not relationship feelings.

I struggle forming connections with people. I think I might have autism and I need to work things out in therapy before thinking of a relationship.
My friend's party is at this bar his family rented out and it's fully private. I just can't get you in.

Then she'd call me asking for advice, and I'm just awkwardly trying not to hurt her feelings.

Throughout K-12, college, and even now, I just don't really encounter many plus-sized women in my active lifestyle. They're not invisible, there just aren't many. I can literally close my eyes and think of all the plus-sized women that I encounter day-to-day and there's like 4. They are literally an outlier in my life.

However, when I was on dating apps, I kept getting all these likes and no matches. Curious, I bought Tinder gold for a month and oh. my. God. It's funny cause I'm a Black dude and I know the stereotypes about us but I never was into chubby women save for some exceptions.

I think it's partly driven by the fact that my mom was a Black vegan(since the 80's) who always had a thin figure(even got body shamed by other sisters for it) and my adopted sister is a 6 ft tall woman with a thin figure. So, I think growing up with slim women in my household shaped my tastes for other women growing up.

My first girlfriend in middle school was anorexic which is pretty extreme but, overall, most girls I dated were at a healthy weight or appeared in shape despite me not knowing their measurements.

That said, there's undeniably hot "plus-sized" women around depending on your definition of it. I'm sure Megan Thee Stallion is technically overweight but I wouldn't turn her down at all. But I think some actual chubby women can be hot as well such as pre-weight loss Jennifer Hudson.

There's some mystery in terms of men's preferences with respect to female body fat levels. The only thing we have a pretty good idea about is the the near universal appeal of certain hip to waist ratios, symmetries and other measurements.

As with all things, there are likely genetic and cultural/environmental factors at play, but they can be pretty hard to parse. It does seem like that in areas or periods with higher levels of food insecurity, men's tastes will start to gravitate towards bigger women. If food insecurity is a thing for long enough, a population might even start to evolve some genetic preferences for it. And ofc, even within populations, individual variance is high.

I dated and lived with a morbidly obese woman. After my experiences I will never date a woman who is in the obese category. It was as if her weight was the 3rd partner in our relationship. There were so many issues and I had this feeling that it was my job to "fix" her. Even though she was getting therapy (which didn't work).

Another issue is that I slowly lost attraction towards her. So we stopped having sex for a number of years.

Men in general can still be attracted to fatter women, especially if the weight accentuates feminine features (e.g., bust and/or hips).

There are plenty of bigger women who have boyfriends. Heck, some of their boyfriends are stick thin and/or muscular.

The issue is that above a certain socioeconomic status, men are going to prefer thinner or slender women for marriage / LTR. That is IMO where bigger women struggle. From my experience, women more often have a problem with her weight before I do. If a woman's weight causes her to have low self-esteem and/or a poor body image, then I have a problem. He makes me feel SO beautiful at whatever size I am (in the time we’ve dated I’ve bounced between 200 and 230). Women aren’t invisible to men until almost the age of 60, but interest from men starts to decline steadily from late twenties and drops significantly after age 40.

With regards to plus sized women, I have zero interest in even just having sex, let alone ever having a LTR with one. For me personally, even “thick” is a dealbreaker for a LTR. For women, I think a good strategy, if you really want a LTR, would be to get yourself healthy and guys will suddenly be willing to commit to you.

I think that there is a reason why models(male, and female) look a certain way(fit)..it is what people want. Most people ultimately want someone who is in their league. I believe women’s requirement that the man be taller than her is similar to men’s unspoken preference that the woman weighs less than him.

But yes. I am attracted to chubby women. But there are limits.

She would have to be: * proportional - fat distributed evenly * hourglass - breasts and hips wider than stomach (but can still have a pooch) * a normal pretty face with no double chin * large breasts (small breasts on big women looks strange) * round ass (flat ass on big women looks manly) * under 5’7” * under 200lbs

Anything outside of that is fine for sex but not relationships.

A friend of mine had a simple rule that seems reasonable: Sex with any pretty woman no matter the size. Relationships only with pretty women who weighed less than him.

In my experience big girls are more fun, (in the bedroom and out of the bedroom) and if their pretty I do find them attractive...its a guilty pleasure. I'd never date one fully committed purely because of the stigma. Iv had flings with girls who are a UK size 16..but no way I'd wife her up. Its a horrible analogy but it's true..lots of fun but you don't want your friends seeing you with one AKA A Moped. Perhaps men carrying a bit of extra timber themselves have a completely different open minded attitude..I'm a gym head and for a life partner I'd like someone who enjoys similar activities...I enjoy hiking, boxing, running, obsicle races etc

Just my personal opinion.... I'd say that the lady pictured is slightly overweight, but just has a wider frame and bigger skeletal structure than the average person.... She wears that little extra weight quite well though, It's cute, suggestive .....

I think women get the wrong idea about this because they look at the fashion industry and how thin the models are. The fashion industry is run by gay men who like thin twink bois. Obviously can only speak for myself, but I do not find plus sized women, as depicted in your example pictures, attractive at all. They are invisible to me as far as dating goes. If there were a way to automatically filter them out, I would.

I tried it once, and the sex wasn’t for me either. So for me, such women are also invisible for hookup material.

For me personally yes I find all of the women attractive and I'd date all of them or would like to get to know them better.

For guys in general? I think all of the women should definitely not struggle to find partners. But they'd have less options than if they were a bit slimmer.
