I didn’t enjoy dating at all when I was doing what people normally consider dating (paying for a restaurant, some activity, etc). Because then you have more pressure to succeed, otherwise you just wasted time and money on someone you’ll never talk to again. And I think women can see when you’re trying too hard.

I started enjoying it once I decided, ‘instead of going on a date, I’m just going to do something I like that I was going to do anyway, and the girl is invited to come with’. Any woman that you actually want to be with would have no problem with that

Disclaimer that this is my personal opinion but yes I personally do enjoy dating and being friends with women (albeit my dating experience is admittedly limited). Do I have my frustrations with women? Most definitely, but if a woman is a cool person then I love hanging around with them even platonically (I realise that's not a real word).

I think that anything to do with relationships tends to bring out the worst both sides, which is why it can seem like "men don't like dating women" or "that women don't even like men". Emotions are so heavily invested and as much as people pretend that they "don't care about women" or "don't care about men" this is clearly a subject that a good majority on both sides are invested in otherwise you wouldn't have people burning their keyboards to ash writing paragraphs about their opinions (I tend to think that the less something matters to you the less you'll write bibles about it). I've observed this here and on Facebook and YouTube comments.

Put it this way; I can't be bothered making comments most of the time, not because "I don't care about women" but because it's too much effort (swear to god lol), this is coming from someone that is actually interested in women and discussing dating, let alone people, that rack up thousands of posts in a year, clearly dating really gets up in people's a**es and it brings up a lot of stuff.

That said, I think in the "Real World^TM" a good number of men enjoy women generally. It goes without saying that they will have their own frustrations regarding dating but men and women in the "Real World^TM" seem to have functional friendships.

I'd say the reverse is true as well, which is a blessing because if this place were anything to go buy you'd think WWIII (gender wars edition) was about to kick off (thankfully this isn't the real life, this is just fantasy).

I would boil it down to some shit will inherently always be annoying (in general) to 1 gender about the other and vice versa.

The male pov of dating is fairly exhausting in that in the developmental stages the load is mostly on the man, typically speaking he has to make the advances, plan the dates, lead convo, on top of vetting, and etc…the woman’s role is far more passive. Again I say typically, not always.

So it’s easy to see how a guy could get tired of that. Throw in all the extra caution a guy has to take nowadays because allegations can go far (look at the Joey swole stuff of him calling out women for calling dudes creeps at the gym when they did nothing) I can def understand why guys would be cautious and maybe want to stick to male friends more and tired of the dating game

Good question. In my opinion not really.

I recently had a new date off Bumble, the txt game and flirting were actually great. We finally met in person, and I knew within 7 seconds this wasn't going to go anywhere (and 2 hours later I was right).

I've had a lifetime of mixed messaging about why I wasn't as successful in dating, sex, and romance as comparable other men. Initially it was women like intelligence, so I tried to flex that. Women like humbleness, so I was humble and tried to lead with "quiet" confidence when the most successful guys were just being silly and having fun. I tried being silly and having fun, and women allegedly were beginning to value "seriousness" and plans for the future. I began focusing on seriousness and women were just beginning to get out of their first marriages and want casual fun and non seriousness... it's like at every age I was leaning into the "wrong" thing that women I wanted to attract in the prevailing age bracket were interested in. It has been a journey of confusion, exhaustion, working on the wrong things at the wrong times. It's been draining.

But because of that, I am extremely well rounded. So why don't I generally enjoy women's company, value their dreams, why do I think they are stupid? boring and not funny?

Well. I met the new date off Bumble, she seemed fun, engaging smart, vivacious. During the course of 2 hours she proved to be terrible company ( a lot of neutral to negative body language, awkward/negative demeanor. Shy/strange mannerisms), I was turned off by her values ( she married a guy she barely knew quickly, integrated herself into his family/different culture gracefully which was a plus, but they way she described her connection and energy with her husband seemed... cold. Not passionate. He then went on to cheat on her with his personal assistant. I don't blame him. ), she proved to be stupid ( she droned on and on about random petty, stupid friend drama shit.Even though I asked her about her dreams and what she's excited about for the new year, what she hopes to accomplish in the short term future, she gave basically no answers.).

She wasn't deep, and she wasn't funny. She just liked to get drunk and go with the flow. There was no substance to her. She is 41 years old...

So I'll tell you, the "better" and more well rounded you become, the higher you become, it gets harder to appreciate people who are stuck in "lower" levels of consciousness and awareness, when you know they aren't going to climb that much higher in their lives with their current mindset and belief system, and with many women exhibiting NO SIGN of that changing.

Help me understand, how is a man supposed to enjoy women when they fall sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo short compared to what I've had to do to become "more attractive" ? How can I take these women "seriously", when they don't measure up?

I think most men at the beginning do enjoy dating women. They are attracted to women and like to spend more time with them. But at the end of the day, a date can be boiled down to be successful or unsuccessful for a man. Individually he can determine what that success means, but I think for most men it means making a romantic connection with a woman who is also attracted to you and wants to take things further.

Given that dating is becoming increasingly cut throat, winner take all due to OLD, women's increasing expectations and options, etc. Most men who are unsuccessful can see higher attractiveness and status men who are able to make the same mistakes and often more mistakes than them, but still be successful. They are realizing the game is rigged against them in favor of the few.

So this question becomes like asking men to play a Board game where they are increasingly put at disadvantage due to factors largely outside their control (height, facial features, introvert vs extrovert) and wondering if they hate board games such as monopoly because they don't like to play if they have to start with no money. When men in the past seemed to not have to deal with this, or at least not to the same extent as it is now.

So if they don't like to play Monopoly while starting with no money because they are 5'5", but their 6'5" friend starts with twice the regular amount of money because of his height. It wouldn't be accurate to say "well I guess guys hate board games then."

My impression is that many of these men didn't start off hating women but bc of their experiences grew wary, hateful or jaded. This even applies to men who do well with women, but usually they are the ones who learned to do well later after failing or before they were "red pilled". Whether it's their own fault or the fault of the women they encountered is up to many things including individual circumstances and situation and society.

They call me late at night when struggling with something. They call me when their girlfriends are struggling with something or bring them over to my house and dump them for “girl time”.

My male friends like me. Some love me.

The men I’ve dated wanted to manage my clothing, my phone use, and every hour of my time. They claimed they loved me and performed all the grand gestures they thought were necessary to show love, but genuinely seemed irritated with me because I didn’t follow their rules. They may have wanted me, each planned to marry me. Based on their behavior when I broke up with them, they may have loved me. But I’m not certain they actually liked me.

I quickly learned I didn’t like them all that much, either, I just liked having sex with them.

i don’t think its gender specific, and it does go down to the individual - but the act of dating in itself is tedious and annoying - let’s put it this way, i enjoy spending time with women, whether it be romantically or platonically, and tbh i tend to get along with women more than men - but the actual act of dating in specific is tiring, but i guess it has more to do with the concept of meeting multiple people, constantly re-introducing yourself and the expectation of building something intimate with someone you’ve barely known. I find the issue with dating in such a context is that I need an instant spark, otherwise i’m frankly better off getting to know a girl outside the context of dating then getting into something as it develops

For me, dating women is an exercise in mental illness at best. I hate that my testosterone and desire to procreate compels me to keep trying.

I generally don’t see traits in attractive women that I usually admire in people as a whole, such as honesty, courage, selflessness, and humility. What I do almost always find in attractive women is solipsism and selfishness, which is hard to ignore once you start seeing a pattern.

Would you enjoy a process that involves jumping through a bunch of hoops again and again, only to be discarded at the slightest mistake or failure to maintain a fairy-tail fantasy? And not only that, but paying for it at every step in the process, which is typically expected.

Knowing that at any moment your partner’s hypergamy could kick in and they could leave you. Knowing that things like duty, honor, and love can go out the window whenever they have a change in how they “feel”. Not to mention being gaslighted at every turn by society and social media into thinking this is a good situation to be in.

Of course you, as a 23yo woman, enjoy the experience of dating. You’re the one filtering through suitors and sizing each one up in terms of what they can provide and what they can give YOU. Accepting gifts, meals, experiences, etc. For men it’s almost not worth the trouble, and a lot of men are waking up to that fact and checking out (at least I am)

All of this is not to say that I haven’t met high quality women that I think would make good partners. I have met some in my life and have even dated a few, but they are by far in the minority of what’s out there. Also they’re usually not single (I have created a few close friendships with women like this, and for that I am grateful)

I've known a ton of guys who like women, enjoy their company, and value their dreams and aspirations. They're either perpetually single, or they met 1 girl and got lucky with their timing as she bounced off some other guy she had been dating, married her and that's it.

I personally have always had female friends. Had a number of female friends in high school. In college. At work post-college. Girls (in real life) like talking to me, hanging out with me, etc.

I often found that while I like sex, I liked girls better as friends than the same girl as dating, as they often seem to turn into this annoying giant toddler mode when dating. Like one girl early on had a "pregnancy scare" - lol we were sleeping together, we were not even taking our pants off - there was 0% chance of pregancy. Like sex is where babies come from, and they seem to start acting like babies to test you or something, and it's really annoying.

A relative of mine had a kid, and this kid in the phase where they can talk but it takes a bunch of effort and they try to get people to do things for them without using their words. And I'm like "holy s**t this is exactly the same thing from dating". "I wanted to hang out on friday, but now I feel like friday I want to relax and want to do saturday instead...let's play a huge game that he has to figure it out without me using any words".

When we're friends I feel like there's a moment when they consider doing that, then inside their head they think "that game is to much work, I'll just make it easier by telling him". But when we're dating they're like "I haaaaave the play the toddler game!!!".

Women are often more enjoyable as friends than they are as dates.

And I don't really think this is unusual, I've met a lot of women who reach like their 30's and they're effectively married to their boyfriend but they don't want to get married or think or refer to him as their husband, it seems like they're afraid that once they see him that way they'll turn into a monster who undercuts and tries to control him - and they're afraid of becoming that kind of person.

Aside sex, I love the moments we spend together say cuddling and watching a movie, traveling together, doing fun outdoorsy activities together, etc.

That said, one thing that I quickly learned after I started dating was that having a gf is completely different from having a friend. Anecdotally, they require a lot of attention, drama, certain male expectations, etc that annoy me. However, I'm pretty sure my girl has some masculine traits that she finds annoying in me which she puts up with. I guess that's the beauty of this male-female relationship.

I hated every aspect of dating when I was trying to go about meeting women. Lots of rejection, lots of getting left on read, lots of getting ghosted after the first date. It didn't really help that I took rejection particularly harsh. A normal guy would get left on read by a girl on Tinder and maybe be hurt a little bit or not even think much about it, I would always be devastated every time. That was when I was 20 and new to the game and very naive.

You need to be thick skinned to go about dating, that's something that it taught me.

Personally, I love dating women. Because I dont take it that seriously and just see what happens. But it took some work to get to that point.

Story: I used to have a guy friend (past tense because he was exhausting) who was a superficially attractive guy: tall, good looking, but very difficult to get on with as soon as you got to know him a little because he was extremely whiny.

Anyway he was addicted to tinder hookups because he loved female attention and got enough matches to give the good brain feels. But he viewed actually dating as a chore.

But then he tended to make it a chore, because he was going out with women he clearly had little in common with, openly making fun of their behind their backs before he met them. Then he'd go on the date and, surprise, now you gotta have an an awkward interaction with someone you know you dont like so you can try and fuck them: so they'd get in some stupid argument over trivial shit, or she'd go "sorry I'm not really feeling it" and then he'd complain for days and ask what was wrong with him.

He was going out on plenty of dates, and hooking up fairly often. But the way he spoke of it made even the hooking up sound like a chore. He was the kind of guy who'd always focus on negatives. From a strictly numbers game if you're hooking up with say, 1/2 new women a month- thats way more than most guys. But he was always fixated on the amount of rejection he perceived he was getting.

Anyway the point of this story, dating can be a chore. It depends how you look at it. this guy had it pretty much on easy mode but still kept seeing it as a source of perpetual struggle.

All of the women Ive dated have been really boring to interact with. At the end of the dates, I've felt drained of energy, money and time. It was my friends who asked me to try dating and I wanted it to give it a try but at the end of that ordeal, i am more convinced of my initial view that dating is a waste of time and resources. That said, dating sucks as a man lol. All the pressure/expectations are on you. Feels like I’m putting on a performance to try and impress her vs actually getting to know her.

Also it depends on the kind of woman you date. A lot of modern women have become extremely selfish in response to men being selfish assholes for so long. So even if you’re not a plate spinning red-piller you end up running into FDS types which just isnt worth it.

Dating is supposed to be fun. Off the top of my head I can only think of two really bad dates. The rest, even if they didn’t lead to more, were fun.

I also think the heavy expectations - from both sides - mess up the chemistry. If he’s hyper focused on getting laid and she’s desperately trying to determine if he’s husband material, well that’s not much fun.

The advent of the internet has made it clear that a significant amount of men do not like women and mainly view women as disobedient vaccume cleaners that they can fuck.

It's also telling that many men don't disagree with these male talking heads when they comment how disgusted they are by women. I rarely see a guy making content in disagreement towards these men, it's usually silence. But when. Woman says she doesn't like or eant to be with men who have these views, men magically have opinions on the matter despite being absolutely silent towards the men spreading these narratives.

It's also rather telling how mens complaints about women is that they won't be brainless and quiet slaves that fuck on comand.

While womens complaints about men is that they're physically/sexually abusive and aren't active or productive participants in relationships and leave women to do most if not all of the work with little to no support.

History has shown that men and society in general think that they're better than women and that women are supposed to just be utilities in mens lives. So it has never been historically relevant whether or not men like women (it also didn't matter if women liked men), women were just supposed to do what men instructed them to do and let men fuck them whenever they wanted.

Men are having a psychotic break of sorts that their vaginal maids are becoming sentient beings that don't just want to clean up after then and bend over whenever they want. It would be like if any other household appliance suddenly gained sentience and started demanding rights, most people would be confused and have conflicting feelings of "but you've always been my dishwasher, I've never known you as a person."

It's like over night women went from washing men's shit stained underwear to being CEO's. Men can't psychologically handle the fast cultural change and are just saying the quiet part out loud about what women have historically been in society. Which is just a household appliance for men.

I have actually been putting a lot of thought into this very question lately - debating each side in my head.

For me, personally - and I'm only speaking for myself here - naw. it seems like a bad investment of my resources.

I used to be the type of guy who would pine for a past romantic relationship (even though it was me that stood up to the woman - which would cause the break-up). But, not anymore. My last sorta semi-romantic relationship was almost two years ago now. She enters my mind probably almost daily, but not in a nostalgic way. I think of her more in a way like, "How would I be forced to 'behave' right now if we were still together?"

Add that onto my maturity in realizing that I do actually have my shit together, and should not feel guilty about filling my down time with what others would see as frivolous endeavors - and the popularity and mainstream acceptance of that behavior - I really don't have a good reason to be dating a woman right now.

A date with someone who likes you and wants it to work is great. A date with a woman who doesn't is not. With online dating and the extreme mismatch in abundance a lot of men are fighting for women who'll freely drop them in a heartbeat and then being expected to pay for the experience.

When you go on a bunch of really bad first dates with women who don't contribute to the conversation and expect to be entertained then your idea of what a woman is, is based on that.

I do, I enjoy typically meeting unique people and sharing moments dedecated to having a good time with them. I try to plan dates that align with their interest just to see whom ever I'm with smile or just generally have a good time.

This novel is to Japan what The Great Gatsby is to America, and I read it when I was in school, and I remember reading it in class out loud, and having to control myself because this is supposed to be a tragedy and a drama, and to me this was an absolute comedy, and I was shaking, with the teacher certain that my shaking was due to how emotional I was at the tragedy of it all, when the truth was that I was shaking because I wanted to laugh.

It's a good question, but women place such a measure of performance on men when it comes sex and dating, that men are less inclined to find it enjoyable with the exception as to when it's a game for them.

It's actually quite rare to meet a woman who's enjoyable to date.
